Ireland has faced huge economic challenges  over the past number of years. Mistakes by bankers, regulators and politicians in the past are now severely hurting families and small and medium sized businesses across the country. The Government is working hard to redeem this country's reputation, to restore our Economy and to ensure that these mistakes never occur again.

The country has taken huge steps in the last number of years and the disastrous situation we found ourselves in, is gladly behind us. Exiting the IMF-EU-ECB programme in December has given us renewed hope for the future. Unemployment is down, Consumer confidence is up and we have re-entered the bond markets successfully, but now is not the time to become complacent, we still have a long way to go in that journey of restoring our country's fortunes for the betterment of all our people.
